Our History

DVREDF started as a source of capital and has grown into a source of opportunity. The fund began in 1994 and since its inception has taken on projects that share the organization’s mission to grow jobs and the economy in the Greater Philadelphia area. With financing from DVREDF, organizations can tackle signature projects that contribute to the betterment of the economy in the five-county region, create new jobs and strengthen the workforce.  Over the years, DVREDF has:

  • Supported training for hundreds of individuals for work in various fields
  • Created more than 100 sustainable jobs
  • Financed multiple businesses, development projects and non-profit organizations
  • Capitalized a thriving charter school that educates more than 600 students
  • Preserved 50 beds for mentally ill and homeless individuals in Philadelphia
  • Supported the growth of an organization that serves 3,800 children, youth, adults and families
